Cool Sladky i båset med sina adepter.

We have the honor to interview coach Tomas Sladky before the important playoff game against Pixbo on Thursday in Wallenstamhallen. Tomas has been head coach for this team since beginning of the season and tells about his experiences during this season.

How do you feel about that?
Well, finally a good game is coming again. Our team plays better against better teams, which Pixbo definitally is.

Can you summarize the season with these juniors so far?
I’ve worked with this team approx. 7 months. During this short time I have tried to bring some kind of structure and connectivity into the game-face. Players are responsible to be physically well-prepaired and work on their personal skills. My main goal was to improve their ”tactical mind-set” of JAS-level.
So far I think it’s ok.

A new experience for you to train floorball youths – what experience have you gained from that?
New experience indeed. New players, new club… I’ve worked as floorball coach last 8 years. In Sweden it makes really sence, because players are really talented. They want to learn and work hard, what i really like.

A very special evening on Thursday – one game, one winner! How do you prepare yourself and the team?
I’m a little bit sad about the JAS-playoff system here in Sweden. When I was junior, I used to play a typical playoff serie of best-of-five. This kind of model looks like some tennis tournament to me:). It’s the same ”mistake” as Superfinal model… from the players view, we are just losing high-quality matches from the best part of the season, when you can learn the most…
But back to our preparation. Last two week we have been working very intensive to be ready on Thursday, so let’s see:)

What do you think about Pixbo?
I know a couple of the players from Pixbo, I’m their floorball teacher at Hulebäck gymnasium. Of course it’s a good team, following a game stale of their SSL-team. But I’m focusing only on our team, that’s more important I think.

How is the temperature in the team? Everyone’s ready to play?
Everyone has to be ready to play! If somebody won’t be ready, he should tell me that before the first face-off on thursday evening!:) For this kind of game they have been practising the whole season, so they should show their best.

What is most important to win the game?
Focus and clear head.

Explain how you think the game will look like!
Like a floorball game:) Floorball is still the same sport, it depends on the players, what kind of floorball game it will be. But I’m pretty sure that all of our supporters will enjoy it! So, you are welcome to watch and cheer for us!

Result and how do you see as game winner?
Well, I would like to see strong team, who will work extremely hard during the whole match, all of the 60 minutes, every shift. After end-signal we can look up to the score-board, check the result and go home with good feeling after good team work.

Thanks for interview, see you in Wallenstamhallen!
